During the holiday season, Grand Central Terminal puts on a free laser light holiday show complete with music on the massive Sky Ceiling of the Main Concourse about every half hour for the many travelers to enjoy in this masterpiece of a landmark. There’s about eight different laser light shows to watch for on the ceiling’s fantastic mural of zodiac figures. The tradition began in 1999 and can be viewed beginning at 11:00 am from November 30th thru January 1st.
In addition, Grand Central Terminal holds an annual holiday fair in the grand space of Vanderbilt Hall where dozens of vendors sell hundreds of unusual collectibles, apparel, crafts, toys, and unique gifts for your holiday shopping fun. The fair runs from about November 19th thru December 29th.
Another free event at this famed terminal can be found at the New York Transit Museum Gallery Annex where you can view their annual holiday train show complete with miniature models of New York City landmarks decorated for the holidays including a miniature Grand Central Terminal! This event runs from November 19th thru January 13th.
Grand Central Terminal has over 100 shops and restaurants that can also help out with your holiday shopping list. When you are in the Main Concourse you can pick up a map/directory of Grand Central at the I Love New York information window.
Grand Central Terminal is located on 42nd Street and Park Avenue.
