felidia bar lidia bastianich metroway nyc restaurant

This upscale restaurant, Felidia, is located at 243 East 58th street and is the creation of its famed owner, author, and cooking personality Lidia BastianichFelidia’s restaurant is one of the four Italian restaurants that Lidia owns and operates in the U.S. with her son, Joseph Bastianich. The dimly lit brownstone restaurant has two floors with golden yellow walls and cozy red lamps. This elegant restaurant serves a wide selection of Continental, Italian, and Mediterranean dishes under the watchful eye of its chef Fortunato Nicotra. The restaurant, opened in 1981, was nominated by the James Beard Foundation as one of the outstanding restaurants in the United States as well as the winner of the Wine Spectator’s Grand Award Winning Wine List for several years for their impressive wine list. Within this intimate setting, Lidia can be in attendance mingling with the customers as they enjoy their satisfying portions of a variety of choices. From a seafood salad, numerous pasta choices, chicken, or beef, the extraordinary menu leaves the customer satisfied. I would highly recommend the pear and fresh pecorino-filled ravioli which I’ve had a few times now. Seafood lovers will enjoy the variety of fish served daily. Customers may have an olive oil tasting before ordering. The appetizers were something else! The desserts were also above average like the poached pear in syrup with ice cream. The chocolate mousse cake with fresh berries was also fabulous! The home-made gelati or sorbetti is refreshing as well and follows a pasta dish nicely. The menu changes seasonally for your enjoyment.
