This beautiful restaurant has been one of the city’s finest since 1917. The restaurant has a thoroughly romantic atmosphere among renowned murals of 36 nude girls and one oddly diapered he-man, by American muralist, Howard Chandler Christy.

Once an eating place solely for the tenants of the Hotel des Artistes above it (including Isadora Duncan, Norman Rockwell, Noel Coward and Alex Woollcott to name a few), the restaurant has remained unchanged for 80 years. Operated by George Lang and his wife, Jenifer, for the last 25 years, Café des Artistes serves superb continental cuisine under the careful supervision of its new Chef Ari Nieminen, who was formerly the chef at the FireBird.
