The elegant Saks Fifth Avenue has been in business since 1902 and was opened by Andrew Saks. This Fifth Avenue department store, opened in 1924, won a Gold Medal award from the Fifth Avenue Association. The luxury upscale retailers sell the latest designer fashions, plus size fashions (Salon Z), a large bridal department, two floors of men’s fashions, cosmetics & fragrances, kids apparel, home & gifts, and an extensive selection of fine and costume jewelry in this 10 floor New York City landmark store. The staff at Saks Fifth Avenue is very helpful and professional.
The 8th floor has CafeSFA, a cafe and bar, that overlooks Rockefeller Center and serves a nice lunch variety. The deserts are also a refreshing treat to break up your shopping trip. I would recommend visiting CafeSFA around the holidays since you can enjoy a fantastic view of Rockefeller Center and the giant annual Christmas tree.
Saks Fifth Avenue’s flagship store on Fifth Avenue occupies an entire city block and is located between 49th and 50th streets, across from Rockefeller Center.
