   The Walter Kerr Theatre was renovated and renamed in 1990 after the Pulitzer prize winning playwright and Broadway theatre critic Walter Kerr and seats approximately 955. This theatre was built by the Shuberts, in 1921, in a record breaking sixty days and was first named the Ritz Theatre. The architect Herbert J. Krapp designed the elaborate Italian Renaissance style theatre which is now owned by the Jujamcyn Amusement Corporation. At this theatre, six Tony award-winning productions have be performed: Angels in America: Perestroika, Angels in America: Millennium Approaches, Doubt, Proof, Take Me Out, and Love! Valour! Compassion!. Other successful productions include Grey Gardens, The Piano Lesson, and recent musical A Catered Affair.
