   The annual Midsummer Night Swing and Lincoln Center Out of Doors 2008 are scheduled to be held at Lincoln Center’s Damrosch Park, located at 62nd Street adjacent to the Metropolitan Opera House. The location change is due to the ongoing construction at the Josie Robertson Plaza.
   The popular Midsummer Night Swing event celebrating its 20th season, will be held from July 8 thru July 26, 2008. The annual event features music and dancing with the talents of popular dance bands and two Kids’ Day with professional dance instructors on hand. The series opens on July 8th with the debut of singer/songwriter Nellie McKay and her band The Aristocrats. Midsummer Night Swing is a ticketed event with options for a one day ticket ($15.00), six nights ticket ($78.00), or a whole season ticket ($225.00). Kids’ Day is $5.00, free for children under 5yrs of age. The ticket includes dance lessons at 6:30 followed by an evening of live music and dancing from 7:30 pm to 10:00 on an elevated dance floor. Tickets can be purchased at the Swing box office located in the lobby of Avery Fisher Hall (at Lincoln Center) or online at the Lincoln Center website.     
    Lincoln Center Out of Doors follows the Midsummer Night Swing event from August 7th thru August 24th, 2008. Lincoln Center Out of Doors is celebrating its 38th season and features music and dance performances. All shows are free to the public and feature a variety of programs and performances including dance, poetry, jazz, bluegrass, and soul. Family day takes place on August 16th and features oversized puppets and a performance by Doug Elkins and his popular rendition of “Fraulein Maria”, based on “The Sound of Music”. For more details on the upcoming performance schedule visit www.lincolncenter.org
