Nanette Lepore is a beautiful ultra-chic clothing store decorated with birdcages, hanging white chandeliers, and pink wooden floors. The fancy boutique sells women’s wear, jewelry, handbags, and shoes. The designer collections are not the ordinary selection but frilly finds with lace and ruffles and very feminine pieces that have attracted a celebrity following such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Paris and Nicky Hilton, Uma Thurman and Drew Barrymore. The Nanette Lepore collection is also popular with television and film stylists and was featured on Reese Witherspoon in Legally Blonde 2, Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex and the City, and on Jennifer Garner in 13 Going on 30. If you are looking for a unique embroidered coat you’ll find it here. The store sells A-line skirts in every color as well as a selection of bath and body products. I recommend picking up a bottle of Nanette Lepore’s classic Eau de Parfum Spray. It comes in such a pretty pink bottle and the sweet rose floral smell is so nice and light. I get the fragrance in the hand cream too. The store has two annual sales to mark your calendar for, one post summer, one post winter. The Nanette Lepore collection can also be found at Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdales, and most upscale department stores.
Nanette Lepore is open Mon thru Sat, 11am-7pm and Sun from noon-6pm.

Macy’s Herald Square was around since 1902 and is considered one of the city’s famous landmark shopping department stores as well as
the world’s largest department store. Macy’s Herald Square has 10 floors of shopping pleasure with several places to stop and dine at including a McDonalds on the 7th floor, Jimmy’s Pizza on the fourth floor, Au Bon Pain on the 1st and 8th floors, Cellar Bar & Grill on the cellar level, and an ice cream and pretzels option on the 4th floor. The store is massive and they offer a great visitors guide brochure at the entrance which tells you where everything is located from the restaurants, merchandise, to the restrooms. Several escalators and elevators are located throughout keeping the crowds flowing from floor to floor. The store is a popular tourist attraction and even has the original wood escalators. In the Springtime, the store is filled with hundreds of flowers for a two-week flower event that begins on Palm Sunday. At Christmastime, the store becomes a winter wonderland of decorations from the famed window displays to festive poinsettas everywhere. They even have the Times Square New Year’s Ball on display for a limited time.
Macy’s Herald Square is located on a complete city block with several entrances to the landmark department store. The landmark store is between 34th and 35th Street.

Kidrobot was founded, in 2002, by designer Paul Budnitz and sells highly collectible limited designer toys and apparel designed by a variety of innovative artists. The designer vinyl toys range in price from $7.00 up to $10,000. The store sometimes has release parties where you can meet the artist behind the toys. The brightly colored toys are very unique and sell out fast and are likely to appreciate in value since the artists that create them develop a “celebrity status” and following. The popular toys were even purchased by the Museum of Modern Art and are a part of their permanent collection. The staff is friendly in the relatively small New York Store. Kidrobot has four store locations: New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Miami.
As of July 30th, 2008, the New York location of Kidrobot will be debuting a new line of jewelry by designer Tarina Tarantino with prices ranging from $65 to $975. The collection will incorporate a kidrobot character into necklaces, rings, bracelets, charms, wallet chains and earrings.
Kidrobot is located in the Soho area between Greene Street and Wooster Street. Their store hours are Mon thru Sun from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm.
