 Tony Award winning actress/singer Kristin Chenoweth is scheduled to appear at Barnes and Noble (555 Fifth Ave. at 46th St.) to sign copies of her latest album, at 12:30 pm, on September 13th. Her new album, Some Lessons Learned, features some of her personal favorite country songs that Kristin enjoyed while growing up in Oklahoma.    MSG Entertainment has announced that this year’s holiday preview event “Christmas in August,” featuring the Radio City Rockettes, will be held in Times Square Aug. 11.
   The holiday kickoff event is set to begin at 11 am with Santa and the world famous Rockettes arriving in the heart of Times Square aboard a double-decker Gray Line bus, as featured in the scene “New York at Christmas.”
   The free to the public Times Square event will feature a selection of new Rockette elements, including new Rockette choreography, new music and a new Rockette costume in celebration of the upcoming 2011 Radio City Christmas Spectacular. In addition, new Christmas Spectacular imagery will be unveiled when surrounding digital outdoor boards are activated creating a whimsical winter wonderland in the midst of the heat of August. Audiences will have the opportunity to become a part of the holiday festivities through interactive on-site activities highlighting the new production elements. 
   Additionally, in celebration of “Christmas in August,” Christmas Spectacular Facebook fans will receive the first gift of the season with an online sweepstakes, “I like Christmas.” 2,011 Facebook entries or “likes” will unlock $2,011 in Christmas cash for one Spectacular fan and secondary prizes will be awarded.    The campaign will begin August 11 and continue through August 31 encouraging Facebook fans to show how much they “Like Christmas” and help kick off the season of giving.
   The 2011 production of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, starring the world-famous Radio City Rockettes, will be the most dynamic production to grace the Great Stage in the show’s 79-year history. America’s favorite holiday show is about to re-define Spectacular featuring a new 3DLive video game adventure, new Rockette performances, new musical compositions and heartwarming songs, dazzling new costumes and state-of-the-art technology alongside cherished numbers that have been featured in the show since 1933. Using cutting edge technology, audiences will be part of an immersive holiday experience, as scenery extends beyond the stage transforming the interior of Radio City into a magical canvas. The 2011 Radio City Christmas Spectacular will captivate audiences with the new state-of-the-art technology enhancements while still honoring the traditions steeped in the show.

   The legendary Tony Bennett is set to perform at the Metropolitan Opera, on September 18th at 7:00pm, for a one-night-only concert in celebration of his upcoming 85th birthday. The concert event will feature Tony Bennett performing a wide selection of pop standards from the Great American Songbook. Tony Bennett will be joined by pianist Lee Musiker, guitarist Gray Sargent, drummer Harold Jones, and bassist Marshall Wood.    The Film Society of Lincoln Center will be honoring the legendary Sidney Poitier with the 38th Annual Chaplin Award on May 2. The star studded list of presenters include Ben Kingsley, Bill Cosby, Chris Tucker, Dan Aykroyd, Danny Glover, Harry Belafonte, James Earl Jones, Lulu, Mary Louise Parker, Morgan Freeman, Norman Jewison, Quincy Jones, Quentin Tarantino and Ruby Dee. Clips from Poitier’s film and television career highlights will be screened during the event. Tickets range from $175–$1500 and help support the continued work of the Film Society.

  The popular Broadway Talks lecture series just announced that Harry Potter’s Daniel Radcliffe and Broadway legend Harvey Fierstein will be joining Jordan Roth, President of Jujamcyn Theaters, in conversation at the 92nd Street Y. Daniel Radcliffe, currently starring in How to Succeed In Business Without Really Trying, is scheduled for May 9th at 8:00pm, while theater legend Harvey Fierstein, is scheduled for June 26 at 7:30 pm. Ticket prices are $35 and $29.
